This assignment was very important to me, as I myself have been the victim of discrimination. In creating this ad, I chose to create a piece that would bring the problem of racial discrimination to light.
I wanted to find a way to overlay two images and have them change depending on how the viewer looks at the image. First with love, then with hate. I used a method of color subtraction based on how 3D glasses work. I figured if I applied a red filter to a red and blue image, the red in the image would be absorbed and the blue in the image would appear as black and vice versa. After finding the perfect images on a royalty free image website, I edited them and created two layer styles. One that would make black in an image appear as blue, another as red. I added a tagline, arranged my layout, created some graphics, and my project was done.
