This was a project where I had to come up with a phrase or idiom and illustrate it. I chose "Flying Colors" as my idiom because I wanted to create something colorful. There aren't many things more colorful than crayons flying around and shooting off crayon rockets.
This was my second project using Adobe Illustrator, so I wanted to test my skills and figure out how to use the program to bring my idea to life. After my sketch of the overall composition was done, I created the rest in Illustrator. I based my plane design on the F-16 fighter jet, built some crayon rockets, and created fluffy contrails. Once that was all done, I created a nice color scheme that wasn't too bright, but colorful enough to properly represent "Flying Colors".
